As I ran into this today:

* For the time being, what should translators do to be able to get
  an updated po file that includes the latest (english) strings?
  Is this documented somewhere?
* If not, is it possible to add these instructions for 
  translators to http://l10n.gnome.org/module/banshee/ ?
* Do the Banshee maintainers plan to get rid soon of the git
  submodule?
* If not, how to proceed?
