Those translations are kept in .desktop files, i.e. outside of .mo
files.  They are installed when you "make install" a package, so
you'll need to recompile from source, or wait until your distributor
includes your translation.

So i have to change the .desktop.in files and rebuild from source ???

The same will happen with many other files, such as .xml files
(eg. for locations in gweather), .schemas (as seen in gconf-editor),
etc.
