Exactly. intltool between 0.28 and 0.30 converted those from < to
<, etc., but this turned out to break a whole lot of other things
(like tag nesting: eg. how do you convert back things like "<b>symbol
<</b>" which becomes "<b>symbol <</b>"?) so we turned back to the
old behaviour.
