Request for freeze break for GNOME 2.8.x for gcalctool string problem.

Note that gcalctool has already been branched ("gnome-2-8"), so the
request is for fixing it in that branch in time for the GNOME 2.8.1
release. It will also be fixed in CVS HEAD for GNOME 2.9/10.

The bug listed above also had the patch for this fix (thanks dsegan)!
And thanks to Egmont for finding the problem in the first place.
