Programming

Hi!
My name is Tomas Eroles and I am a spanish Computer Science student.
I developed some programs using MS Visual Basic, and I am interested on
this language, because it's funny and easy.
Does anybody know if there's any program for develop programs in Linux
using Basic language, that is, any application as VB, but running under
Linux?
I've been looking for KBasic, but I prefer to work with Gnome
