The problem is most likely that gtoaster is a GTK+ 1.x application and
so does not support locales that need advanced rendering with Pango. At
least that's what the gtoaster build requirements at
http://gnometoaster.rulez.org/download.html leaves me to believe, since
they only mention "Gtk 1.2 or better".
