The answer is simple...

jwz does not like CVS. I talked with him some time ago and we agree that
I will send him all .po files because he does not want to deal with CVS.

It's a special guy, yes, but it does his work. He does not like i18n but
xscreensaver has it now and we use it with GNOME so we should translate
it to improve the GNOME users experience.

Sander, xscreensaver is now ported to gtk2 and I think it use atk, so it
could be called a "GNOME application".
