Some modules that are redundant are:
- gnome-cpufreq-applet
- battstat_applet
- stickynotes_applet
These have been rolled into gnome-applets quite a long time ago.
'gswitchit' is probably redundant too, but contains some non-applet
code, you should check with SVU.
