I am pretty sure it would be. The editor in GtkHTML1 is very
full-featured.
And it is more or less functional, working, proven code.
I have zero experience on real programming, but it sounds like a good
idea to not throw away working, debugged stuff. If you rewrite
something, you have the risk of (naturally) adding bugs, but also losing
features someone finds very useful - like what happened with
gnome-terminal -> profterm rewrite. Thanks to Havoc for adding drag and
drop of filenames, it is a lot better now. But that thing was working
perfectly well on the gnome 1.4 version, and it was just not implemented
in the gnome2 terminal until today.
