libxml2-2.6.0 is installed on master, I have made everything possible
to garantee ABI/API stability in the face of huge changes in the code base.
The only part which got deprecated early is the DocBook SGML parser,
and did it only after consulting the relevant users, and getting approval
or no dissent from them.
