Second Platform Alpha Release Imminent!

Hey all,

This Wednesday - October 31st - is the due date for second Platform Alpha
packages. Please have your packages uploaded to the unstable ftp area so
they can be sorted and packaged for release on November 2.

This release date also marks the beginning of the API freeze. Please alert
the release team to changes *before* making them, so that we can avoid Crack
and/or Delays.


  So, important dates coming up:

    OCTOBER 31: Packages due for platform alpha
  
    NOVEMBER 2: Platform alpha release and API FREEZE
