There are already some packages versioned 1.4.0 out in one of the beta
directories. If slashdot wants to claim 1.4 Release Candidate 1 == 1.4
Final, they are welcome to it, I don't really see what effect that has
though.

The expectation is to have, if possible, no changes whatsoever between
Release Candidate 1 and final. So 1.4.0 better not be buggy. If it is,
we probably need to insert another release candidate cycle, but I
doubt we will need to.
