If you look at the gnome-core configure.in file, it has a block of stuff
at the top containing all (some?) of the packages and versions that are
required (ok, so I stole the idea from the nautilus stuff, but I've made
a few changes as well). I use those definitions to fill in the
gnome-core.spec.in file, and we could certainly do something trivially
similar for a "DEPENDS" or "REQUIRES" file.
