Speaking of themes... why don't we allow programmers to access a 
standardized set of icons built into Gnome.  For example, back, stop, next, 
save, new and open buttons are almost always going to be the same no matter 
the program you use.  This could be stored in some sort of archive and 
every time the user chooses a new theme, this file could be renamed or 
something and the other set with the theme could take its place.  This 
would interest many computer experts by expanding the customizability of 
Gnome and make it easier for novices to learn how to use Gnome since a 
unified interface makes things much nicer for them.   I don't have any 
proposals on how to do this, maybe the programming or icon committees can 
figure that out but it is an interesting idea.  Plus, standardizing the 
icons would make a programmer's life much easier by not having to make the 
icons in the first place.  And with this, we can do all that perspective 
stuff everyone has been talking about.

I just figured it was an idea to toss in the ring.

:). Yes, I think that the black&white one is a good compromise solution.
But, as we commented, everything could be controled by themes... Tnx
