Please cf. that list of people against how many of them had to learn what those
icons did for the first time vs. how many were fairly proficient with Office and
already knew (and therefore prefered eye-candy to functionality).

A good example of bad icons: download a copy of Pegasus for Windows ... its a free
Email client that uses all kinds of icons that are quite simple and colourful but
hard to distinguish initially.
