my point was that the styleguide should not Mandate any keybinding,
and especially ones which are not that nice to some particular group
of users

well one way to solve all this is to make the text/entry widgets,
"pluggable" ... that is provide a way to

1) load up an .so module with a text/entry widget (just like theming,
but I'd find this a bit more usefull)
2) contact an external app and request a new window for text/entry
(I hear you can do this with emacs)
