Re: [gnome-flashback] Bugs in GNOME Flashback 3.24+[metacity 1:3.24.0-2ubuntu1]

Ahhhh .... yes. My mistake.  _Not_ a bug in Metacity!

 It actually prevented me from being able to start 'gnome-terminal' due to the following error:

Perhaps slightly off-topic, but hth:

Using 'metacity 1:3.24.0-2ubuntu1' as a standalone window manager and 'startx'(no display-manager) in ubuntu-17.04-server-amd64.iso:

Works well --- _except_ for the 'dbus-update-activation-environment' bug requiring it to be added to my '.xinitrc':

<code>
~$ cat .xinitrc
#!/bin/sh

xsetroot -solid "#111111" &

Hi,

in April I asked for some feedback about GNOME Flashback 3.24, till now have not got much bug reports. Are everyone still using older versions?

Please report here or in bugzilla about all bugs you find, only this time I will ask to report bugs that are reproducible in Metacity session. Sorry, but I have no time to test and fix bugs in Compiz session... :(

Is there requests and/or can we create some list with most important bugs that should be fixed before 3.26 release?

Fedora 26, which includes GNOME 3.24 and for which I have GNOME
Flashback 3.24 built in my copr, just hit Beta this week.  So, yes, atm
I (and likely any others using it) are still on 3.22.  Hopefully that
will change soon.

For any Fedora users, I finally got and updated the metacity package
(which had been horribly out of date), which allows me to proceed with
trying to add GNOME Flashback to Fedora (and then subsequently EPEL7):

In the meantime, packages are still available in my copr:

Debian has also been stuck to gnome-flashback 3.22.0 because of the
freeze in preparation for the new stable release.

The freeze ends this week and I'll ask the maintainer to update the
packages in Debian unstable.

Ciao,

Nice. :) I see that you have updated metacity to 3.25.1, how good it is working for you?
