Hi,

Most likely it depends on GNOME Flashback version. If you have 3.20.x or newer then it should be usable. I am using this session on Ubuntu 16.10 (now 17.04, development) with scaling-factor set to 2. Biggest problem to me is that NetBeans does not scale - everything is too small.
