Hi Jim,

Am getting these errors on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.  I really just want
gnome-panel, which I installed, though there isn't anywhere to
select it
instead of Unity.

sudo apt-get install gnome-session

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the
unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been
created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  gnome-session : Depends: gnome-settings-daemon (>= 3.0) but it
is not going
to be installed
                  Depends: gnome-session-common (= 3.9.90-
0ubuntu12) but
3.9.90-0ubuntu12.1 is to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Most likely the apt update && apt upgrade before attempting to
install
will fix it.

This is clearly a packaging issue. Try contacting the person who
packages gnome/gnome-flashback at your distribution.
