I have updated master with gtk3 version.

Should I add these commits to master too?
1) Window Placement Mode -
https://github.com/albertsmuktupavels/metacity/commit/5c2526d51cbe4465277b1a4871fc342f9074ef24
2) Enable compositing manager by default -
https://github.com/albertsmuktupavels/metacity/commit/afbeb86f44cfa0d802f6e6464dca56a56cd122fe
3) Side-by-side tiling -
https://github.com/albertsmuktupavels/metacity/commit/913eb6bae99948acaf153c7b5008facfe30d3580,
https://github.com/albertsmuktupavels/metacity/commit/022816a622da8c545d20e2753fbb146a7bc6acca

I see you already enabled compositing in master (which looks good to
me). Don't know anything about the other patches.

Maybe there are patches in debian and ubuntu that should be applied to
master? Dmitry?

There are two patches in Debian:

- 01_focus_new_window.patch — https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=534752
- 03_gtop_error.patch — https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=603240

I think both can be applied in master.

There are 13 other patches in Ubuntu (that are not already applied upstream).

Here are ones that look suitable for upstream:

- 04_support_drag_drop_with_alt_tab.patch —
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=135056
- 10_no-ws-switcher.patch — https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=609513
- 13_better_support_for_button_layout.patch —
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=608511
- 14_wrong_colormap.patch (not forwarded)
- 22_fix_above_tab_switching.patch —
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=692437
- 100_fade_on_long_title.patch —
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=642108

Other 7 patches look Ubuntu-specific. Some of them were needed for
Unity 2D, so can probably be dropped now.
