Looking into the PO [1], I found this:

#: ../panels/media/gnome-media-panel.desktop.in.in.h:2
msgid "Removable Media"
msgstr "Soporte extraíble"

so I suppose the patch actually solves the problem. No idea about why it has
worked as far.
