What error are you getting? You should be able to run:
make check
in either the top directory (gnome-user-docs) to check all the documents
or in the first sub-directory of the guide you want to check (i.e.
gnome2-user-guide directory containing all the language directories).
If this doesn't work, have you run autogen.sh? This is the program to
generate the makefiles. In the top directory, run:
./autogen.sh && make
will get everything set up so make check can work.
If you've already done all this, what error message are you getting from
make check?
