Question about i18n and Stylesheets

Say I have two documents, C/mydoc.xml and de/mydoc.xml
When I process C/mydoc.xml, the xrefs within it are transformed from reading:
<xref linkend="blah" /> to "the section "Blah" in Chapter 2"
What do I do to process de/mydoc.xml so that my localized document uses the right localized words --- I know "Blah" is taken care of, but what about "section" and "chapter"?
