As for gtkhtml2, yes, I plan to use it. Right now though, I'm not viewing it as a
viable option, as all the components I need aren't ported to the GNOME 2
platform, or are not released semi-stable yet, if they are. I am also amidst the
rewrite of Encompass and I'm dealing with a lot of design issues. When I have
a usable version of this rewrite, and more libraries are ported to GNOME 2,
I'll start work on porting, until then, the platform for Encompass is GNOME 1.4.
