Re: persons

Dear Battery841 (what's your name anyway?),

If you have the courage to use the 1st person singular you will end up
with much better tutorials. A tutorial is not supposed to be dry.

On the other hand, I would not use the first person singular for a
reference manual.

Keep in mind a couple of things as you make your decision:

* The best serious pedagogical books about physics, and almost any
physics major from around the world will swear by them, are by
David Griffiths on Electrodynamics, Quantum Mechanics and
Elementary Particlcs. He uses the 1st person singular to help
clarify how things should be done. He was courageous enough to do
it when most such books are dry, and he set a great trend.

* If anyone argues that "it is not done in software manuals", you can
answer that the track record of the software manual "industry" is
abysmal: most manuals suck, especially where they explain concepts.
