gtop documentation

Hi there,

Some time ago, someone summarised a bunch of Gnome apps which lacked
documentation on gnome-doc-list@gnome.org:

Okay, so that was more than "some time ago" :) I do keep an eye on
the Gnome CVS commits list, and I haven't seen anything which looks
to my ignorant eyes like "Brand new gtop documentation".

I now have the beginnings of a guide to gtop written in what is probably
very bad Docbook. Before I go any further, I have a few questions:

(1) Is anyone doing this already?

(2) Can I pester you for clarifications? I have been reading lots of
manual pages and /usr/doc/wotnots and so on, but there's still things
I'm not sure I have understood correctly. Also, I only have access to
Linux: if it does different things on, say, Solaris, it would be good
to know before I blithely assume that because it's like that on Linux
it's like that everywhere. I gather that it certainly works differently
underneath. I mean more 'what it looks like to users'.

Oh yes. When I say beginnings, I really mean that :) I've covered most
of what I have found out about the processes window, but the memory
and filesystem stuff is sketchy, and still in plain old ascii.
It took me six weeks to get this far, but I hope I might start
speeding up now..

Telsa
