If you want to do XML-RPC, I'd suggest libsoup, the http library used by
evolution. It doesn't (currently) have any XML-RPC-specific stuff, but
it does HTTP, and I'd take patches for XML-RPC (and the bug-buddy
maintainer has also mumbled about possibly adding XML-RPC support).
