	An idea would be, when opening the file, do the check based on content, and, if
they differ, warn the user. If not, just open the file with the appropriate
viewer/editor/whatever.

	Speed is one of the reasons I don't use nautilus, too. I prefer rox [1], as it
does the job and is pretty fast (at least on my machine, an Intel Pentium II
400MHz, 256M of RAM and a 5200RPM hard disk).
