Remembering position of menubars

Hi,

while still uncertain if my last bug report was merely an indicator of a broken installation, I found another thing to report:
normally, Gnome apps are supposed to remember the position of their detachable menubars between invocations, On my machine, this does work if gtk_widget_show() is called on the app *after* the menus are created, yet fails to do so if the order is reversed.

Can someone confirm the behaviour?
