Why haven't I thought of that yet? It would certainly be useful.
I had some ideas about different types of grids, like e.g. polar grids
or a grid suitable for iso-metric 3D drawings. The latter could probably
be implemented by such an affine transformation of a normal rectangular
grid.
In Sketch at least, it wouldn't even be difficult to implement. The user
interface would be a lot more work than the actual functionality.
