list guidelines?

I've been mucking around with compiling a few things from CVS lately, but I
run into an occasional snag that I can't fix.  Should I ask questions about
CVS only modules here, or on the mail gnome-list, or someplace else
entirely?  My current stuck spot is glibwww, which doesn't have any of the
proper config files, so I assume that it should be part of something else,
but what?  Thanks,
