Okay, thanks, this indeed was a problem. I was using gettext-0.10,
which did not include, as far as I can tell, "gettext.m4". I have
just installed gettext-0.10.35, which fixed that problem.
However, it appears the problem causing most of the errors was the
lack of the "macros" directory. It doesn't exist in mc-cvs. By
creating that directory, ./configure ran most of the way through.
The next error is probably due to mc-cvs relying on something more
recent than what I have:
./configure: GNOME_VFS_CHECKS: not found
./configure: test: argument expected
I pulled gnome-vfs.m4 from libgtop-cvs into mc/macros, but now I get
the following:
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_STRUCT_LINGER
Should I be using an autoconf more recent than 2.13?
