I'm very happy to see this happening!

The answer of the question is crucial to me too. I've been waiting for
this for a while, since I'd love to package it and offer it to people,
but changing interfaces are too big a blocker - as it'd mean changing
the package and soname on the distro side with every release. :-(
The API should now not change anymore until the 2.0 (that is of course
except if there is a problem with it such as name clashes,
inconsistencies, etc). The next releases will be API and ABI
compatible with the 2.0 which is why I want it as clean as possible.
Regards,
Vivien
