for not using GConf, apps can us the gda_config API, which uses a plain
file in the user's home directory. So, for windows, gnome-db-config can
just be not be compiled into the library and have apps on windows use
the gda-config (or a simple gnome-db-config wrapper to allow code
portability)

that's the same way I feel myself :) if someone does the work, we'll
