could you please make the changes to make it compile with your installed
version and send a patch? Thus we'll make sure I don't release with
errors.

why do you want to remove that? It is needed. Although, I've just
committed a little change to include the version number in the
PROG_INTLTOOL call. Please let me know if that works for you.
