[gnome-db] Need Help With gnomedb Installation

I've been trying for two weeks to get gnomedb installed ... 
the widgets show up in Glade ... but gnomedb-fe won't work.
I have postgres installed and am running as the postgres user.
I can configure a provider as host=localhost;database=postgres,
but I can never get the provider to Start.   Any ideas would be
appreciate.  I would be willing to pay for an hour or two of
consulting if someone is interested, with payment via Western Union.
