the GnomeDbCombo widget is a bit broken it seems, and nobody has used it/updated it
in a lot of time, so I guess it's time for me to look at the source code

I'll have a look at it very soon

For the moment, if you could try to look yourself in the
gnome-db-combo.c file to see what's happening?
