Proposed (and promised) changes to libgda

Rodrigo and all,

you may have noticed that I have been rather quiet during the
last two weeks, in writing to the list as well as in committing
changes.

I have been very busy in RealLife(TM), and this will probably be
the case for some more weeks. But I will return to libgda, and
I don't forget what I have promised :)
