Compiling rolodex

Hello all:

Just starting to explore gnome-db.
Using SuSE 6.4.
gnome-db directory is /usr/gnome-db-0.0.91
Downloaded these files to /usr
  bonobo-0.13-prw2.i386.rpm
  gASQL-0.5.3-1.i386.rpm
  gide-0.3.0.tar.gz
  glade-0.5.9.tar.gz
  gnome-db-0.0.91.tar.gz
  gnome-db-postgres-0.0.91-1.i386
then untarred and rpm'd from there.
Cannot find file called for by rolodex.

make in rolodex directory fails with
 make: *** No rule to make target '../gda-clnt/libgda-clinet.la', needed by 
'rolodex'

Do I have assignment problems.  Reminder - SuSE slightly differs from RH in 
directory assignments.
