Re: [gnome-cyr] The name of the list

 Hello!

I think that name of this list is somewhat incorrect and really should be
gnome-ru or something like that (gnome-cyr-in-russian?). Generally russian
hackers and hackers who speak russian are communicating here (and sometimes
localization of software to russian is discussed here)..

But I think the only list where cyrillization and i18n of gnome software at
public level has to be discussed (in English of course) is
gnome-i18n gnome org Cyrillization is i18n too, cyrillization solutions that
can't be called i18n (i.e. solutions that work only for cyrillic languages)
are hackish solutions and should be avoided as much as possible.

So, gnome-cyr where all cyrillic-speaking hackers meet dedicated to
cyrillization with the only English allowed for communication shouldn't exist
anyway - gnome-i18n gnome org should be used for this purpose. The reason why
gnome-cyr exists under its current name can be considered a mistake in the
name of the list. 'gnome-ru' just seemed to be inappropriate list name too
since it would distract Belorussian and Ukrainian hackers from participating
in it.
