Здравствуйте, Янко!

I understand you was confused when found in gnome-cyr Russian speak.
Yes, we don't speak in same language (but our languages is very close,
I can understand your message idea). But we have one alphabet and it
called Cyrillic. And we work on ability to use Cyrillic alphabet (more
widely any non-latin alphabet) in gnome. For example, you tried to use
windows-1251 charset in your message but Evo set your charset to
iso8859-1. It's a bug and we push on Evo developers to fix it. We want
to give you ability to use any of cyrillic alphabets in gnome, such as
windows-1251, koi8-r, iso8859-5, ibm-866, etc. So not only Russian,
but at least Ukrainian, Byelorissian may use results of our efforts
right now (and may be other Slavic people).
Unfortunately we don't see activity of people from other Slavic
countries. Look at main gnome lists (gnome-hackers, gnome-devels,
gnome-i18n). You can see posts from Vlad Harchev, Timur Bakeev, val.
They're members of our list. Sometimes seems that only Russian group
worry about not only Cyrillization but i18n of gnome. Since our native
language is Russian and your message is first non-Russian speak person
message in this list why we should change our list name? We work on
Cyrillic and speak in one of the Cyrillic.
What more arguments do you need?

с уважением
Дмитрий
