Well, in the future we could reduce the need for exec to merely giving
you access to a language-independent IDL interface for activation.

Are you talking about a command-line tool? I think simplifying the
current bonobo-activation-client would be the way to go on that (no
need for the complex client that I can see). Alternately, it could be
a cut and paste job of the query program.
Either way, you can expect me to hack up a trivial activation
command-line tool within a week at most (need to take care of platform
alpha critical issues first).
