adding interfaces

hi

    I was going trough the bonobo documentation and
found this function bonobo_object_add_interface, but i
don't exactly understand this part of the
documentation:

     It should never be used when the object has been 
   exposed to the world

What does that it mean? can i use
bonobo_object_add_interface on two BonoboXObject
derived objects?
