You can try http://developer.gnome.org/doc/guides/corba/ . The
document tell how GNOME uses CORBA and offers starting information on
bonobo. It is somewhat outdated, but I am working to put it on again.
I'm working (thanks to Mathieu Lacage) in a "fast" release which
includes the document under the FDL (Free Documentation License), and
includes me as the maintainer, as Mathieu and Dirk, the original
writers, are rather busy.

    In the meanwhile, you can download the actual version, that should
give you an overview of Bonobo. Although some interfaces have changed
their names (they were GNOME:: and now are Bonobo::), the ideas behind
remain almost the same...
