Hmm, this is the suspicious bit. Can you try plugging in the device
into a different port, or if you're using a bug try a direct
connection? Also, if you're using a USB3 hub/socket, try using a
USB1/2 one instead.

I was using a USB3 port (just realized because of an issue with gphoto2 and tethering).
I've tried the USB2 port but I still get the error:
