Re: ColorMunki Display not detected (again)

It's not a problem of Debian.

I've tried the latest colorhug liveCD (running Fedora) and this doesn't detect the ColorMunki:

Can anyone who owns a ColorMunki Display confirm it?

Hi,

I've already asked this 4 months ago:
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-color-manager-list/2012-January/msg00011.html

Now I'm checking again after software has upgraded.

The device is detected by the system:

$ dmesg | tail
[11419.632029] usb 6-2: new full-speed USB device number 2 using uhci_hcd
[11419.804028] usb 6-2: New USB device found, idVendor=0765, idProduct=5020
[11419.804032] usb 6-2: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[11419.804035] usb 6-2: Product: ColorMunki Display
[11419.804037] usb 6-2: Manufacturer: X-Rite, Inc.

HID v1.11 Device [X-Rite, Inc. ColorMunki Display] on
usb-0000:00:1d.1-2/input0

argyll (and therefore DispcalGUI) can see it as well:

$ dispcal -?
Calibrate a Display, Version 1.4.0
Author: Graeme W. Gill, licensed under the AGPL Version 3
Diagnostic: Usage requested
usage: dispcal [options] outfile
  -v [n]               Verbose mode
  -display displayname Choose X11 display name
  -d n[,m] Choose the display n from the following list (default 1)
                       Optionally choose different display m for VideoLUT access
     1 = 'Screen 1, Output VGA-1 at 0, 0, width 1440, height 900'
  -dweb[:port] Display via a web server at port (default 8080)
  -c listno Set communication port from the following list (default 1)
     1 = 'usb:/bus0/dev2 (Xrite i1 DisplayPro, ColorMunki Display)'

Only gnome-color-manager doesn't work: the calibrate button is "switched off".

4 months ago Pascal suggested to use his PPA, but I'd like to avoid it.
Should I file a bug report to the Debian Gnome maintainers?
If you have any suggestion about how to debug the problem, I'd be
happy to follow it.

I'm on Debian testing.

$ aptitude show argyll gnome-color-manager | grep Version:
Version: 1.4.0-4
Version: 3.4.2-1

Thanks,
Federico
