Ah, thanks to the both off you, Two methods are better than one I guess :D

$ gcm-inspect --dump

(gcm-inspect:7684): Gcm-WARNING **: failed to get XServer profile
data: failed to get property

(gcm-inspect:7684): Gcm-WARNING **: failed to get XServer protocol
version: failed to get property

$ xprop -display :0.0 -len 14 -root _ICC_PROFILE
_ICC_PROFILE:  not found.

That's not good is it...

Any clue what might cause this? I'm quite clueless about X
architecture at this level.
