Hi,
I really recommand GGAD ( GTK+ / Gnome Application Development ).
The book is not supported to introduce the usage of each widget, but to tell you about how to write a widget. The author of book Havoc Pennington, is a well known hacker of GNOME, and the author and maintainer of several GNOME components. He almost built the GNOME developer team at Redhat.
Online version is at
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/GGAD/.
