Mozilla has an irc bot called 'bzbot' running on a few channels. It
reports new bugs and some (not all) changes to one or more channels.
I've hacked bzbot a little to allow it to work for bugzilla.gnome.org
and it has the following features (most of these where in the original
version):
* Does not connect to bugzilla.gnome.org
* Highlights email addresses in green, products in aqua
* Can send the following messages to the channel:
1. New bug filed
2. For new bugs optionally show program that caused the crash
and five functions (taken from find-traces.pl)
3. Bug status changes (eg unco->resolved duplicate)
but not when the new status is NEW/ASSIGNED/VERIFIED
4. Product changes
5. Created patches
6. Patch status changes (such as accepted-commit_now)
* If bzbot sends a message to the channel, it will include an extra line
showing url, product, component, severity, priority, status, summary.
* Fast, should usually report within a few seconds (depends on when I
receive the email)
The bot only reports for certain products. I've included the following
products (I watch most but not all of these):
acme, bugzilla.gnome.org, general, gnome-applets
gnome-desktop, gnome-media, gnome-panel, gnome-terminal
gnome-utils, gtk+, metacity, nautilus, totem, vte
This is just a test. I haven't decided if I want to run bzbot
permanently.
Still reading? Time to /join #bzbot, triage some bugs and see them
appear :)
