USB support needs QEMU 1.3 (or a patched Qemu 1.2 as can be found in Fedora 18 for example), otherwise saving of boxes when Boxes quits is broken. Given QEMU 1.3 is not out yet, USB support is disabled by default in configure, you need to explicitly enable it if you are 100% sure your QEMU will be working ok with USB Christophe
